Below are some examples of some of the unpublished stories I have been writing and illustrating in my spare time.
An educational story with an envirnmental theme about a child who has a secret place in her garden, which only she knows about - a teeny tiny, big wide world! Full of creatures from around the world, which she protects and takes care of. Then one day, her friend discovers her secret and she is led astray, and the teeny tiny big wide world is soon at threat...
In this story baby African animals start by teasing each other about the way they look e.g. big ears, a long tongue, stripes etc... but by the end of the story they have learned why they are perfect, just the way they are.
This is a project that I was working on with Brown Wells and Jacobs last year. I had come up with an idea for a book based on animal sleep, and thought it might work well as a novelty book featuring flashing lights as stars, and more and more stars appear as each page is turned. Please see my sketchbook page for more drawings from this project.
One of many ongoing projects in development for me is 'The Land of Ice and Snow' - a story I wrote based on climate change and animal habitats.
Planet Snooze shows some of the amazing ways that different animals around the world like to sleep.
